The World Health Organization, The Union, the Stop TB Partnership, USAID, CDC, the Treatment Action Group and UNICEF will launch a roadmap outlining the path towards zero deaths from childhood tuberculosis.

04 September 2013 - Geneva - The Stop TB Partnership will host a meeting on 31 October 2013 for all partners and other people who are visiting Paris for the World Conference on Lung Health.

09 August - Geneva - The Stop TB Partnership's mission is to serve every person who is vulnerable to tuberculosis (TB) and ensure that high-quality diagnosis, treatment and care is available to all who need it. Indigenous peoples are often poor and marginalized and it is among such groups that the burden of TB is highest. A large share of the 370 million indigenous peoples living in 70 countries, have a high burden of health challenges and low access to diagnosis, treatment and care. In industrialized countries, TB incidence and mortality rates are generally several times higher among indigenous peoples than among others born in those countries. Fighting TB among indigenous peoples is therefore at the heart of the Stop TB Partnership’s mission.

1 August - New Delhi: Civil society representatives from across India came together for the official launch of the Partnership for TB Care and Control (PTCC), held in New Delhi on 30 July.

The publication "Partnering and Public Health Practice - Experience of national TB partnerships" was published by the Stop TB Partnership and WHO in June 2013. This publication presents the activities and approaches taken by 23 national TB partnerships to support the work of national TB programmes and partners in countries across the six WHO regions.

31 July 2013 - Geneva - Nominations for the 2013 Stop TB Partnership Kochon Prize are being accepted until 15 September 2013. Funded by the Kochon Foundation, a non-profit foundation registered in the Republic of Korea, the US$ 65 000 prize is awarded once a year to persons, institutions, or organizations that have made a highly significant contribution to combating tuberculosis (TB).

11 July 2013 – Ottawa, Canada – The Stop TB Partnership Coordinating Board has elected Aaron Motsoaledi, the Minister of Health of South Africa, as its Chair.

10 July 2013 – Ottawa, Canada – The Stop TB Partnership has presented Canada’s Minister for International Development, Julian Fantino, with an award recognizing Canada’s support and leadership in the fight against tuberculosis (TB).

30 May 2013 - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - Community health workers - known as health extension workers in Ethiopia - have teamed up with motorbike riders to dramatic effort in Ethiopia’s Sidama Zone, finding double the number of people with tuberculosis (TB) compared to a previous period and increasing their chances of survival.
