1/4/6x24 Campaign: Community training materials

Materials designed to equip civil society and community-based organizations with the information they need to advocate for equitable access to the short-course treatment and prevention regimens at the heart of the 1/4/6×24 Campaign.

Community engagement and mobilization will be key to winning equitable access to the short-course treatment and prevention regimens at the heart of the 1/4/6×24 Campaign. For everyone to benefit from the scientific progress that made these effective new preventive treatments and cures possible, governments and other duty bearers and stakeholders need to act and be held to account.

The materials listed below were developed by Treatment Action Group with input from members of the 1/4/6×24 Campaign Coordinating Coalition. They are designed to equip civil society and community-based organizations with the information they need to advocate for governments and other duty bearers and stakeholders to take actions necessary to ensure the “staff, stuff, space, systems, and support” needed for everyone, everywhere to benefit from access to short-course treatment regimens by the end of 2024.

These free resources can be used by local activists to inform advocacy strategies and generate demand for the 1/4/6 regimens and the 5 S’s required to reach the communities that need them. The first deck provides an overview of the 1/4/6×24 Campaign, the next covers one-month and once-weekly TB preventive treatment (TPT) regimens, the third covers four-month treatment regimens for drug-sensitive TB, and the final deck covers six-month treatment regimens for drug-resistant TB. They are written in simple language and accompanied by clear illustrations to appeal to a variety of audiences.
