The Union's TREAT TB initiative has created an E-tool for Operational Research to help meet the urgent need for health professionals with the skills to conduct this type of research independently.

Operational research is increasingly recognised as an essential tool for evaluating and modifying health practices and policies. To help meet the urgent need for health professionals with the skills to conduct this type of research independently, The Union's TREAT TB initiative has created an E-tool for Operational Research.

This online learning programme is designed to provide new researchers with a basic understanding of key operational research concepts. It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete the programme, which can be started/stopped at anytime. The e-tool covers a wide range of topics, including the basic steps of operational research, study design ways to collect and analyse data, as well as ethical considerations in operational research.

TREAT TB (Technology, Research, Education and Technical Assistance for TB) is an initiative managed by The Union that has been working to contribute to new knowledge through targeted operational research benefitting global, regional and country TB control efforts. It is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
